I figured it was about time I created a post about how to get started with Wordpress. It can be a bit overwelming at first. I’ve learned from experience that if you skip over certain parts in the beginning, it can create you more work later when you have to go back and fill in the empty blanks. Here I’ll go over the basic steps on how to be a careful and efficient blogger.
I don’t know when, why, or how this started happening, but when I clicked on any of the navigational links in my header menu, nothing would happen. I couldn’t get to any posts or categories, I just kept getting the home page. The URL would say the correct post address, yet all I saw was the home page. Very frustrating! What happened? How do I fix it?
Some plugins give you “shortcode” to easily insert items into posts and pages. Use this snippet of code to enable shortcode in widgets.
Do you wish your wordpress blog post’s comments displayed the newest comment first instead of last?
One of the very first things I do after installing Wordpress is set the site’s permalink structure. This is important for the reason that the URL stucture is permanent. If you decide you want to change the permalinks later, you risk breaking links of prior posts.
